Lore

In a realm where time unraveled and the gods’ whispers wove the wind, there lay the Forest of Erosia. Legends spoke of a mystical haven, untouched by mortals, guarded by a presence known only as The Coven. To stumble into Erosia was to risk everything, for the forest was alive, its essence pulsing with magic both alluring and forbidding.
The Coven were its keepers—enigmatic figures whose forms shifted like the shadows beneath ancient trees. Some said they were lost deities, exiled from divine realms. Others whispered they were darker entities, bound to Erosia by unbreakable oaths. The truth was unknowable, for those who encountered The Coven rarely returned. Those who did spoke of rites so profound and strange that they defied mortal comprehension, rituals blending beauty, passion, and an energy that seemed to breathe life into the forest itself.
Among the deepest groves of Erosia, where the light barely pierced the canopy, lay a place known only as the Bound Farm. Here, those who had succumbed entirely to the forest’s thrall served a purpose both enigmatic and eternal. The Coven’s farm was no mere pastoral idyll; it was a living embodiment of the forest’s insatiable vitality. Those who found themselves bound to the farm—by will or by fate—were caught in a trance so deep it merged their essence with the forest itself.
Their passions, their desires, and their very life force became offerings to Erosia. Each touch of the soil, each breath drawn in its enchanted air, wove them tighter into the fabric of the forest. They toiled not in suffering but in a strange, blissful surrender, their every action driven by an overwhelming need to nurture the forest and sustain the rituals of The Coven, surrendering themselves to rites that pulsed with primal energy, they became one with the forest’s rhythm.
Central to the Erosia Farm’s workings were the Handlers, trusted right hands of The Coven. These individuals oversaw the farm’s intricate balance, tending to those bound within its thrall and ensuring their contributions to the forest’s vitality were seamless. The Handlers possessed an innate connection to Erosia, their presence calming and commanding, guiding the entranced with a care that bordered on reverence. They managed the delicate interplay between magic and mortal essence, nurturing the farm’s inhabitants while drawing forth the energies needed for The Coven’s rites. It was said the Handlers themselves were neither entirely human nor fully part of The Coven, their roles placing them somewhere between the two, bound by loyalty and an unspoken pact. The Coven’s rites drew upon this bound energy, channeling it into the forest’s lifeblood. The glades thrived, the ancient trees stretched ever higher, and the hidden waters shimmered with an iridescent glow. Whispers told of figures seen at twilight, eyes alight with fervor, their forms both human and something more, their movements dictated by a trance-like desire to give and serve. They were neither slaves nor free, but something in between—beings who had become a part of Erosia’s eternal dream. It was said that the farm itself was alive, its boundaries shifting with the forest’s will. Those who wandered too close were often drawn in, their resistance melting away as the air grew thick with the scent of exotic blossoms and the hum of unseen forces. To escape the Erosia Farm was to tear oneself from the very essence of Erosia, a feat few ever achieved. Though there were those not of the coven, nor the farm who had achieved that. The Enchanted ones more primally bound to the forest. A Lure to those traversing it to give into their desires and lose themselves for minuets, hours, even days in their embrace.Beyond the farm and deep within the heart of Erosia lay the fabled Cove. Hidden by veils of mist and guarded by the hypnotic songs of its inhabitants, the Cove was a place of both wonder and peril. The waters here shimmered with a light that seemed to come from the depths themselves, casting kaleidoscopic patterns onto the cavern walls. At its center, a crystalline lagoon reflected the stars even in the absence of night, a beacon that lured travelers from afar.Among the enchanted waters, exotic aquatic plants thrived, their bioluminescent blooms pulsing softly with the rhythm of the merfolk’s songs. These plants were said to hold potent energies, their nectars and essences used by The Coven in their most secretive rites. The Cove was a place of convergence, where the mysteries of the forest met the endless depths of the waters, a nexus of life, passion, and unfathomable magic.
The merfolk who dwelled in the Cove were beings of otherworldly beauty and dangerous allure. Their haunting songs wove through the mist, calling to wanderers and promising wonders beyond mortal imagination. Those who answered the call often found themselves embraced by the waters, where the merfolk awaited with smiles both inviting and enigmatic. Yet, their embrace was as much a claim as it was a welcome, for to join the merfolk was to surrender to the Cove’s eternal depths, becoming one with its timeless essence.
Hidden in the forest and spreading like veins through its heart was a labyrinthine cave system. The entrance, concealed and cloaked in shadow, seemed to call only to the curious or the unwary. The air within was cool and damp, carrying whispers of something ancient and unspoken. The tunnels twisted endlessly, a network so intricate that even the most seasoned explorers soon lost their way.The caves were a place of profound mystery and peril. Those who ventured too deep often succumbed to the oppressive darkness, their minds unraveling as the weight of the silence pressed upon them. It was said that the caves held a strange power, one that lured wanderers deeper with promises of bliss and fulfillment. Many claimed to have felt an intoxicating pull, an overwhelming sensation of need that dulled their senses and left them vulnerable to the caves’ enigmatic influence.
Few who entered the caves ever emerged. Whispers told of individuals who had lost themselves entirely—some in endless ecstasy, others in madness, and many who simply vanished, their fates unknown. The rare accounts of survivors spoke of visions so vivid they felt real, of voices calling from the blackness, and of a presence that seemed to watch from the shadows. The caves were alive, not with flora or fauna, but with something deeper and far more alien, a force that thrived on the very essence of those who dared to enter.
To the east of the Erosia Farm lay a mysterious swamp, its surface a mosaic of green and black, the air heavy with a cloying sweetness. At its heart was a dock, weathered but sturdy, laden with a variety of games—games that seemed simple yet drew in those with competitive hearts. The allure of the dock was undeniable, its enchanted atmosphere ensnaring the minds of those who dared to partake. Some who played found themselves lost in endless rounds, their focus consumed by a desire to win, unaware of the time slipping through their fingers. Others vanished entirely, claimed by the swamp’s enigmatic embrace.Yet, not all was harmonious in Erosia. The forest had rivals, dark forces that sought to challenge The Coven’s rule and disrupt the delicate balance of magic and life. Chief among these rivals was a powerful vampire clan known as the Tzimisce. These ancient beings viewed Erosia not as a sanctuary but as a prize to be conquered. They sought to drain the forest of its magic, to bend its power to their will and reshape it into a domain of shadow and decay. The Tzimisce were as cunning as they were cruel, their influence spreading like a blight through the forest’s outskirts. Their goal was to eradicate The Coven and all they had built, to extinguish the vitality and passion that defined Erosia and replace it with cold, lifeless control. The Coven and the Tzimisce clashed in secret wars, their battles fought not with swords but with magic, manipulation, and the very forces of nature. The outcome of their struggle remained uncertain, a hidden war whose stakes were nothing less than the soul of Erosia itself.
